David Bergman is an action photographer who grew up as a "band geek" in Miami and he attended the prestigious Berklee College of Music in Boston. But after a year, he realized that he's more interested in taking pictures of his friends’ bands instead of studying for music theory class. So he transferred to the University of Miami to learn how to take pictures. He even sold his drums to buy lenses. He was covered multiple Olympics, Super Bowls, the World Series, and Stanley Cup Finals. He has also been called an “action photographer” because he incorporates the best of his sports action work into his commercial photography. If you look at the photographs that he took, you can see that all the moments are specifically captured to express an emotion. The images that he took are often of crowds, where you see the scale of the event and the emotion of the crowds.
This photo was taken by David Bergman of the Presidential Inauguration.
The images that i picked are mostly caught during the time of motion, these photographs allow the people who are viewing them to connect with the picture and feel the moment it has been captured in.The first photo was taken by Bridget Maniaci, this photo reminds me of one of the Bergman's photos, these two photos are similar because both of them are having an event and are really crowded. As you can see, a lot of people are holding a person and they seem really happy.
The first basketball photograph by Tom Dahlin seemed to capture the same moment of the basketball photograph Bergman had taken. Both basketball players are focused on their game and trying to put the ball through the net. Also, both photos were captured midair, that means they are both similar action photographers.
As you can see the scale of the events in the first picture taken by Christian Schmidt, it is so
crowded. It reminds me of the picture that i found on Bergman's blog. These images have a lot of similarities, you can see that Berman always capture images of crowds. The way the first photo is taken is similar to the second one that Bergman took.
Bergman likes music a lot, so a lot of his photographs are related to music. The next photograph taken by Karen Loria closely reminds me of Bergman's photograph taken at Bon Jovi'a concert. You can see that the singers are all focusing on their concerts and you can also see the power and excitment of the concert. Even though the colour of these two photographs is different, but the way these pictures were taken is similar.
Lastly, i want to compare the first photograph taken by Jeff Jewiss and the second picture taken by Bergman. They are both similar because none of these pictures were posed, as you can see, the singers were not looking at the camera and both Jeff Jewiss and Bergman didn't take a second to have them pose for the cameras because they wanted to capture that moment quickly. So the people who are viewing the images can feel the moment that has been captured in. The other similarity is that both photographers were able to capture the moment where the singers are swinging their head, so the way these two photos were taken is similar.
